My first venture in a band was in High School in Miami Florida back in 1967. I was the lead guitarist and Harry Casey was our lead singer. Harry later went on to become the leader of “KC and the Sunshine Band.”

A few years after graduating from the University of Florida, I spent 2 years traveling around the world. I ended up in Australia and after several years of playing music as a Solo musician, I formed my own band, “Rusty and the Ayers Rockettes”. After several years of jerking off, we actually collected a strong following throughout Queensland. The band grew from a 3 piece to a 5 piece band with (in my opinion) some of Australias’ finest.

There was Hoola Hooper and Daryl Mitchell on the lead guitar, Petrina Mitchell on the drums, Marlon Holden on the bass, later on there was Peter Clark on the drums, Allan Cameron on the lead guitar and last but certainly not least, Keith Urban on the lead guitar.

Quite a stellar lineup of talent!!
